Class 135 [Also in Group XI] In a gas burner a bimetallic hoop 18 secured to and surrounding the mouth of a Venturi mixing tube so as to be heated by the flames thereat bears against the head of a lever 20 which bears, near its pivoted lower end 21 against a rod 10 extending through a bore in the body of the burner and adapted to engage a spring-urged ball 7, movable between two seats 8, 9 to control the flow of gas to the burner nozzle 5. The Venturi tube 6 is rotatable in a clamp 15 so as to vary the bearing force between the bimetallic hoop and the lever 20 whereby the temperature at which the hoop actuates the valve is altered.
