664,201. Tank fittings. FIREPROOF TANKS, Ltd. June 5, 1950 [June 7, 1949], No. 15174/49. Class 69(i) [Also in Group XXVIII] A fitment 10 to be mounted around an aperture in the wall of a flexible tank is provided with a resilient outstanding neck 3 having an external annular channel 4 in which is located a rigid ring 6, the ring and the end of the neck remote from the container having complementary holes through which studs or bolts 7 may be passed to secure the fitment in position. In the form shown, the neck is formed by moulding the edge of the aperture back on itself and the interior of the annular channel reinforced by a resilient collar 5. The ring 6 is shaped to hold the bolt heads, or nuts, at one end of the studs, against rotation. In another form (not shown), the resilient annularchannelled neck is formed separately from the tank and vulcanised into position around the aperture. Inlet and outlet unions, gauge fittings, air vents, inspection covers and the like may be fitted in this fashion.
