Class 102 (i) A reciprocating pump for dispensing liquids comprises a cylinder 4 attached to a rod 3 that slides through a hole in a piston 1 that is secured to the cover 2 of the liquid container The piston 1 has a second hole, 6 communicating with the delivery spout 7. The piston may be in the form of a plate connected to the cover by a tube through which the rod 3 passes. The rod 3 has a plate 8 that covers a recess 9 in the cover and a groove 10 that is longer than the depth of the piston so that leakage may pass from the recess back into the container.
