Abstract

662,896. Gas taps. HOMANN, W., [trading as HOMANN-WERKE W. HOMANN]. July 19, 1949 [Oct. 1, 1948] No. 18926/49. Class 135 A gas tap comprises a disc 9, Fig. 1, pressed against a flat face 5 by a spring 12 and having ports 19 ..21 and 31, Fig. 3, of different sizes intercommunicating on the upper side of the disc through an annular passage 10, and controlling communication between an inlet passage 23 and an arcuate outlet groove 22. A catch 11 fixed to the operating spindle 7 engages recesses formed in the top of a cover plate 13 to locate the disc in any of four positions ranging from zero to maximum gas supply. The catch is disengaged from the recesses by slight vertical movement of the spindle. The passage 23 is connected to a supply duct 3 through bores 2, 34, and the pressure is adjustable by a screwed plug 33.
