Abstract
662,154. Luminescent materials. DERBY & CO., Ltd., and MEYER, H. Jan. 23, 1950 [Jan. 28, 1949], No. 2488/49. Class 39 (i). A luminescent material consists of a mixture of a silver-activated zinc sulphide phosphor and a zinc cadmium sulphide selenide phosphor containing 30 to 38 moles. per cent zinc, 12 to 20 moles per cent cadmium, 44 to 46 moles. per cent sulphur, 4 to 6 moles. per cent selenium, and activated by silver, or silver and copper. The phosphor is prepared by mixing zinc sulphide, cadmium sulphide and zinc (or cadmium) selenide together with the activators and fluxes such as the chlorides of sodium, magnesium, barium and ammonium, fired, washed and sieved.
