Abstract
652,106. Luminescent materials. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Jan. 28, 1948, No. 2586. Convention date, Aug. 31, 1945. [Class 39 (i)] An infra-red responsive zinc sulphide phosphor is activated by copper and manganese jointly, in the proportions by weight of 0.12 to 0.2 per cent manganese and 0.0001 to 0.005 per cent copper. The copper may be introduced as a dilute solution of copper chloride or nitrate and the manganese as solid carbonate, nitrate or chloride. Sodium chloride is used as a flux.
