Abstract

661,508. Centrifugal-separators. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR. July 15, 1949. [July 16, 1948] No. 18705/49. Class 23. Liquid is separated into a lighter and a heavier component in a centrifugal bowl having a disc-pack 2, and the boundary 12 between the components within the bowl is located by regulating the flow of the heavier component in the outlet channel 6 to form a second boundary 10 between the components in a channel 9 connected to the channel 6 and having an inlet edge 7 lying between the inner and outer radii of the flanges at the edge of the disc-pack. The flow in the outlet channel is regulated by an exchangeable disc 11. In airtight bowls the flow of the heavier component is regulated by a valve. Solids are deposited on the wall of the bowl.
