Abstract

661,479. Valves. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. March 2, 1949 [March 12, 1948] No. 5679/49. Class 135 [Also in Group XXXII]. A spring-loaded valve device opening in either direction and applicable to hydraulic shock absorbers comprises a valve member 30 guided and urged towards a seat 23 by radial spring fingers 37 formed integrally with a ring 35 which is held by an inturned flange 36 on the body 20 of the device, and a ported piston valve member 40 operating in a bore of the member 30 and loaded by a spring 44. A notch 34 in the member 30 provides a permanent restricted opening.
