1516836 Shock absorber base valve assemblies; valves JONAS WOODHEAD Ltd 18 Aug 1975 [22 Aug 1974] 37012/74 Headings F2S and F2V The base valve assembly of an hydraulic shock absorber comprises a valve body 32 having a flow passage 36, and a bodily movable annular valve closure member 40 which is resiliently biased to close the flow passage and is guided by an integral projection 46 on the valve body. Flow in the opposite direction through the base valve assembly is via passages 52 in the projection 46, an annular space around a central pin 50, and a sleeve valve member 54. The valve body 32 and the projection 46 are formed as a single sintered component. A member 48 secured to the projection 46 provides an abutment for an annular spring 42 biasing the valve member 40. The spring 42 is a flat ring bent about a diameter.
