661,236. Combined ampoules and syringes. LEONETTI, F., and TASSO, F. March 21, 1949 [Oct. 7, 1948], No. 7629/49. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 7, 1949.] Class 81 (ii). In a combined ampoule and hypodermic syringe the ampoule comprises a body having a cavity which is covered by a movable or flexible partition, actuation of which causes the medicament in the cavity to be ejected through a needle secured, with its protective cap, to the body. As shown the ampoule comprises a rigid disc-like member 1 formed with an indentation 2 to the rim of which is secured a tightly fitting membrane 3 which may either be of a soft and inelastic material, Fig. 2, and assume a convex shape symmetrical to the cavity, or soft and elastic as in Fig. 3, and plane in shape. The medicament from the indentation 2 is evacuated via the channel 4 and needle 5 which is encased in a protective cap 6 of a material such as glass or plastic. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 the partition covering the cavity of the ampoule may be a tight fitting piston sealed off in its inoperative position by wax &c. The piston may be replaced by an elastic membrane which may be operated by a push member sliding in a cylinder. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
