648,880. Ampoules. LOCKHART, M. L. April 1, 1947, No, 760. Convention date, Feb. 10, 1944. Divided out of 648,825 under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 2, 1947. [Classes 81(i) and 81(ii)] A closure cap or plug 28 for an ampoule to be inserted in the barrel of a hypodermic syringe is provided with a flexible or diaphragm-like portion 30 which can be flexed inwardly and resumes its normal form 'after release of the flexing pressure. An aspirating effect is thus obtained, by means of which it is possible to ascertain whether or not the tip of the needle is in a vein, the closure being flexed by contact with a fixed post 18 on the syringe. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 modified forms of the plug 28 are described. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
