755,295. Surgical injection appliances. BERTHIOT, M. July 20, 1954 [July 31. 1953], No. 21185/54. Class 81(2). An ampoule of flexible synthetic resin, such as polyethylene, is formed as two chambers joined by a constricted neck 17. The lower part contains the medicament and the upper part en - closes a needle 20 which is passed through a comparatively rigid closure member 19 but, for storage purposes, only just extends through its upper surface. The protruding part of the needle is sealed, as by a thin cap 21. When the ampoule is required for use the neck is gripped and forward pressure is exerted on the broadened end 22 of the needle so as to thrust it outward until and abutment 13 has passed through the member 19 to prevent the return of the needle. The medicament is then expelled by squeezing the walls of the ampoule.
