660,417. Inductances. PHILCO CORPORATION. May 11, 1949 [May 11, 1948], No. 12563/49. Class 38 (ii). An inductor 9 comprises a tube of conductive material having a longitudinal slit 21 in the wall and extending the whole length of the tube, and having also a plurality of longitudinal slots 22- 26 in the wall, these slots being spaced around the tube and extending from one end thereof towards the other but stopping short thereof, the adjacent slots extending from opposite ends of the tube so that a single conductive path of serpentine configuration obtains between the opposing edges of the slit 21. A powdered iron core 10 may be provided, with means to alter its position relative to the inductor 9 so as to vary the inductance thereof.
