Abstract

640,745. Bobbins &c. COLE, Ltd., E. K., and ENTWISTLE, H. April 7, 1948, No. 9811. [Class 120(iii)] [Also in Group XXXV] A former, e.g., for an inductance coil comprises two channel shaped sections which are fitted one within the other to form a tube. A section f, of an insulating material such as pressed paper having divergent sides c, d is placed on a rectangular mandrel. A few turns of wire are then wound on the section collapsing the sides on to the mandrel, a further section e preferably having convergent sides a, b is then fitted over the section f and an inductance coil wound on the former thus obtained. The section e is provided with holes and the section f with protuberances for positioning purposes. The sections may each be semi-circular to form a circular former.
