Abstract

659,604. Hydraulic turbines. MICHELL, A. G. M. Sept. 8, 1949, No. 23293. [Class 110(iii)] In an inwardflow hydraulic turbine, the jet issuing from a nozzle 2 is regulated by a block 4 which is carried by a shaft 8 and turned by a lever 13 secured to the shaft. At small openings, a free jet issues as indicated by the dot-and-dash lines. At large openings, the jet is guided by the curved surface 4b of the block. Specification 16137/03, [Class 110], is referred to.
