Abstract
654,344. Jet propulsion plant. COMPAGNIE ELECTROMECANIQUE. Nov. 18, 1948 No. 30035. Convention date, Nov. 21, 1947. [Class 110(iii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] A gas turbine driven jet propulsion plant having a convergent-divergent propulsion nozzle is controlled by admission of air into the nozzle at a point immediately downstream of the throat 14. Admission is controlled by the annular damper 18, the operation of the rod 24 causing the cam 27 to press open the ends of the split damper against the action of the springs 20. Further apertures may be provided in the divergent section of the nozzle to suck in the boundary layer at the end of the fairing.
