Abstract

658,506. Belt pulleys. STAUB, H. K. Dec. 20, 1949, No. 32659. [Class 80(ii)] An expanding pulley comprises two relatively adjustable cheeks 3, 6 carried by sleeves 1, 5 respectively. The sleeve 5 is loosely mounted. on the sleeve 1, and the latter may be keyed to a shaft. Between the sleeves is formed a longitudinally divided hole 8, 9 in which is housed an adjust- ing screw 12. The semi-cylindrical groove 9.in the sleeve 5 has an arcuate projection 10 which engages a groove 11 in the screw 12 so that the screw is axially located with respect to the outer sleeve 5. The diameter of the pulley is adjusted by rotation of the screw 12, and cylindrical groove 8 in the sleeve 1 is provided with a thread engaging that of the a set screw 13 is provided to lock the sleeves 1, 5 in the adjusted position.
