Abstract

655,324. Momentum apparatus for forcing liquids. SOC. NATIONALE D'ETUDE ET DE CONSTRUCTION DE MOTEURS D'AVIATION. Dec. 22,1947, No. 33846. Convention date, July 24. 1941. [Class 102(ii)] [Also in Group XXVI] Means providing one-way movement of liquid, e.g. lubricating oil, comprises a member 9a, Fig. 1, reciprocable in the directions of arrows 8, 9, and having a transverse passage 7 with recesses and partitions so arranged that, when the member moves in the direction of the arrow 8, liquid is forced, e.g. into the recess 10, and when the movement is reversed, the liquid is thrown into the oblique face 12 of the partition 11 and runs into the recess 13, and hence with each reversal of movement, the liquid moves along the passage. Another arrangement comprises a piston 26a, Fig. 3, wherein oil scraped by rings 23 is thrown into a recess 24, when the piston moves in the direction of arrow 27, and in reversing the movement, the oil is thrown into an oblique face 25 and runs to the centre of the piston. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91, comprises also a ball valve 2, Fig. 1, (Cancelled), which closes and opens a port 3 to control flow through a passage 1-1<SP>1</SP>, as a member containing the passage is reciprocated in the directions of arrows 5, 6. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
