Abstract
653,780. Heating and cooling mixing kettles &c. by circulation of liquids. TRIGGS, W. W. (PIERCE FOUNDATION, J. B.). Sept. 21, 1948, No. 24714. [Classes 64(ii) and 64(iii)] The jacket 18 of a mixing kettle 19 or the like is connected by flow and return passages 12, 21 to a liquid heater 10, and by flow and return passages 52, 55 and 48, 50 to a reservoir 43 for liquid cooled by an absorption refrigerating system, the generator 44 of which is connected by flow and return passages 45, 46 to the heater 10, the liquid circulating through the passages and connected parts being tetra-aryl orthosilicate. Valves 13, 22 and 53, 56 enable hot or cold liquid to be passed through the jacket 18. Valves 14, 58 operated by means responsive to the temperature in the kettle cause the liquid to flow through byepasses 32, 72 instead of through the jacket, at predetermined temperatures. The reservoir 43 is connected to a tank 47. Specification 664,398 is referred to.
