653,687. Boxes or cartons. BOXFOLDIA, Ltd., and FOYLE, J. R. May 15, 1948, No. 13366. [Class 18] A box or carton, e.g. for display purposes, comprises a tray-like portion 11 and a cover portion 10 of resilient flexible plastic secured together by tongue-and-slot connections, each slot being formed in the cover 10 and consisting of a longitudinal slit 20 from which extend transverse converging slits 19 spaced to define a tongue 21 that instantly engages the tongue or tab 15 on the portion 11 when the box portions are connected together. The slits 19 may join the slit 20 at its ends or between its ends and the slits 19, 20 may be straight or curved. while the tabs 15 may have curved or oblique wings 16 and diverging or parallel stems. The cover and base portions may be of resilient plastic material, e.g. vinyl chloride, acetate sheet, cellulose acetate sheet or celluloid of an opaque, transparent or translucent character. The end closures 13, which have curved upper peripheries, may be engaged by the cover 10 as described in Specification 653,688.
