Abstract

Plaster board is manufactured by forming a slurry of calcined gypsum in water from 2 1/4 to 6 grams of an alkali-catalysed partial condensation product of urea and formaldehyde to each 10 lbs. of gypsum, and a foaming-agent, and shaping the slurry as required. The total amount of foaming-agent and resin should not exceed 11 grams to 10 lbs. of gypsum. The foaming-agent is preferably an alkaline earth metal salt of rosin acids or an aliphatic alcohol sulphate.
