651,686. Hinges. SMITH, J. Nov. 18, 1948; No. 29965. [Class 65(ii)] A hinge element for a wooden gate consists of an open clamp 6 the limbs of which are adapted to fit round three faces of the heel stile of the gate, the clamp having a hinging eye 9 adjacent its end limb and the opposite side limbs 10 being screwed so that a clamping cross bar 8 may be tightened thereon by nuts 7 engaged on the screwed portions. The eye is located at a corner or the centre of the end limb and the abutting faces of the eye are welded at 14.
