Abstract

654,605. Hinges. WARD, B. A. Oct. 19, 1948, No. 27089. [Class 65(ii)] In a hinge for spectacle frames in which the arm 1 adapted to be secured to an earpiece has a flange 3 engaging in a slot formed between the: flanges 4, 5 on the arm 2 which is adapted' to be secured to the rim portion of the frame, the flanges 4, 5 are staggered in the longitudinal direction of the arm 2 on which they are carried, and the sides of the slot are parallel and are inclined to the normal through the thickness of the am 2. The arms have shoulders 9, 10 which engage to limit the opening: movement to approximately 90 degrees. Each arm may have two flanges disposed alternately when the arms are assembled together.
