651,352. Rotary plug stoppers. RUECKL, K. July 23, 1948, No. 19734. Convention date, Aug. 14, 1947. [Class 125(iii)] A container seal comprising a tiltably seated sealing member 8 having a projecting spout 10 and an outlet channel 9 and situated in a recess of a container cap 5 sc that in one position the outlet communicates with the container opening 2 and in the other the container opening is closed by the scaling member, the cap is provided with a grooved portion 11 shaped to correspond with the shape of the projecting spout 10 whereby a major portion of the length of the spout can rest in the groove in a plane substantially at right angles to the vertical axis of the container 3. The spout may have a blunt conical shape, and the part of the member 8 which fits in the cap may be spherical, as shown, or cylindrical. A packing ring 6 may be fitted between the base of the cap and the container, with a central aperture 7 coinciding with the opening 2. The ring 6 may be dispensed with when the container part 1 is of soft material, but when the part 1 is of hard material, e.g. glass, then the sealing member 8 is preferably soft. The cap may be of metal or plastic and may screw on or fit by a bayonet lock. The outlet channel 9 may be of L-shape.
