Abstract
651,081. Liquid - containers ; stoppers. DUNLOP, J. A. M., and OWEN, H. W. W. March 3, 1948, Nos. 6682 and 24899. [Classes 66 and 125(iii)] In a container, e.g. for lighter fuel, drycleaning fluid or lubricating oil, having a reversible spout 24 with a flange 28 on one end which is gripped, in either position of the spout (i.e. as shown in full lines within the container for transit &c. or as in chain lines outside the container for delivering the contents) between an apertured screw cap 14 and the top of the neck of the container, the spout is made of gelatine such as is used) in the manufacture of capsules or of a material having equivalent physical properties so that the flange forms a tight seal when the cap is screwed down. The spout may be pre-perforated, in which case an additional disc 30 is necessary and the perforated end may be screw-threaded. and provided with a screwed cap as in Specification 505,138. Alternatively, the spout may be provided with a pin 32 for puncturing it before use, the pin being initially housed within the spout, and in this case the disc 30 need not be provided. The end of the spout may be thickened. Other shapes of spout are described. Specification 634,192, [Group VI], also is referred to in the first Provisional Specification.
