[Classes 20(ii), 20(iii), 20(iv) and 87(i)] In forming a wall of filling material cast between permanent facing-slabs, the slabs are held apart at their corners by hollow non-metallic spacers which surround tiebolts extending through hollowed out corners of the slabs; when the interior of the wall has set the bolts are removed and a filler may be injected into the holes. The tiles 16 shown have coarse interior surfaces and their corners are hollowed to close round the bolts 18 which pass through temporary struts 14, polygonal broken-stone concrete spacers 17, and washers 20, and are tightened by nuts 19. L-shaped concrete tiles 15 are used at corners, and prefabricated reinforced concrete window jambs and lintel 21 with nailable inserts 22 may be incorporated. The floors and partition walls may be as described in Specification 637,274. The foundation may comprise concrete posts 1 at the corners, boards 3 lying in grooves in cross-beams 2, 4 connected by wires 5, and slabs 6 resting in grooves in the beams 4; spacers 17 are placed between these slabs, and during filling of the spaces 10, 11 with watertight concrete the slabs are held by bolts 8 passing through angle irons 7 tied to the beams 2 by adjustable wires 9; parts 7, 8 and 9 are removed after the concrete has set.
