Abstract

PURPOSE: To rapidly and quietly construct underwater structures with high accuracy by a method in which hollow formworks are erected under water with the aid of existing structures, the ground at the lower end of the formworks is excavated, and a solidifying material is placed.
CONSTITUTION: A both side-opened hollow formwork 1 is held its side portion 2 by an existing structure under water, and its lower end 4 is slightly inserted and erected in the soil 8a at the bottom under water. The underwater structure 3 consists of a concrete wall 5 and a support member 6. The soil 8a of the bottom, located in the lower end of the formwork 1, is excavated and discharged from the upper opening of the formwork 1 to form a space 9. Then, a solidifying material 1a is placed in the formwork 1 and the space 9. When the solidifying material 9 is set to a given strength, the formwork 1 is removed. And, a filler 1b, e.g., cement mortar, water glass, etc., is injected into apertures between the underwater structure 3 and the solidifying material 1a and then hardened for enclosing. Thus, the construction of underwater structures can be reasonably performed without futile expenditures.
