Abstract
646,309. Wave-guides. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. March 25, 1948, No. 8874. Convention date, July 21, 1947. [Class 40 (viii)] In an arrangement for transforming an H 01 wave in a rectangular wave-guide G into an H 0 wave in a circular wave-guide Gc, the rectangular guide traverses the circular guide with their axes intersecting and the narrow side of the rectangular guide perpendicular to the Z-axis of the circular guide and a window F is provided in the smaller side of the rectangular guide, symmetrically disposed about the Z-axis of the circular guide. Conductive slidable partitions P1, P2 are provided in the guides for matching. The window F is one wavelength long and may be trapezoidal to ensure uniform energy distribution in the circular guide.
