Abstract

611,960. Wave-guides. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIC SANS FIL. May 14, 1946, No. 14578. Convention date, June 2, 1945. [Class 40 (viii)] An electrical filter for a wave-guide comprises two resonators R1 and R2 within the guide coupled by a predetermined space E. If the resonators are equal in size and the length of the space is approximately equal to the length of one resonator plus #/10, where # is the wavelength of the energy transmitted by the guide, a flat-topped transmission curve is obtained giving the guide a band-pass characteristic. The resonators may be moved in the guide by knobs P projecting through longitudinal slots in the sides thereof. An adjustable tuning probe V is provided in the resonator. In an alternative construction the resonators may be fixed in the guide and the electrical length of the space between them varied by - means of an adjustable probe.
