Abstract

PURPOSE:To widen the variable range of the distance between input and output terminals, to reduce a transmission loss and to flatten its frequency characteristics by coupling a coaxial probe with a short-circuited plate provided in a rectangular waveguide while maintaining constant distance. CONSTITUTION:Coaxial probe 4 and short-circuited plate 5 are linked together by traveling body 6 and while the both are held at constant distance, they can be moved in the axial direction of slit waveguide 3 provided with slit 3a in the center of its H surface by moving movable body 6. An electromagnetic wave fed to input line 1 is led to slit waveguide 3 by internal conductor 4a of coaxial probe 4 inserted into slit waveguid 3 and then transmitted to both output terminal 2 and shortcuircit plate 5 sides. The electromagnetic wave transmitted to the side of short-circuited plate 5 is reflected and then put in phase with that transmitted direct to the side of output terminal 2 by adequately selecting the distance between coaxial probe 4 and short-circuit plate 5, thereby transmitting it to the output terminal 2 side.
