Abstract

645,083. Cleaning printing-machine rollers. OXVAR, Ltd., and MALLABAR, L. W. March 10, 1948, No. 7321. [Class 100 (ii)] A machine for cleaning printing, transfer, inking and like cylinders comprises a pair of drums 2, 3, driven in the same direction of rotation and adapted to support a cylinder 1 to be cleaned, a tank 4 of cleaning fluid in which the drums are partly immersed, and doctor blades 6 and 7 operating on the surfaces of said drums subsequent to the passage of the surfaces through the cleaning fluid and prior to their contact with the cylinder 1. A partition 5 may be used to divide the tank 4 into two compartments. A nozzle 8 fed with air from a fan 9 may effect the drying of the cleaned surface of the cylinder.
