644,349. Slicing vegetables etc; EDMONDS, Ltd., G. Sept. 15, 1948, No. 24186. [Class 5(i)] A fruit, vegetable and like slicer comprises a cutting unit mounted in a onepiece rectangular metal frame. As shown in Fig. 6 (inverted view) the sides 2 are provided with cutter bearings produced by pressing inwardly a shallow U and then pressing back the lower middle part of the U to leave a bridge 8 and V-shape depression 9. The cutter, consisting of alternate blades and spacing members with 'end trunnion-sleeves, is held up in the V grooves 9 by an underslung slotted cutter guard 15 supported on the frame by a pivot 20 and on the front cross-bar by resilient clips. The upper side of the cutter is shielded by a cover 21.
