Abstract

580,455. Vegetable &c. slicers. SIMPSON, H. May 23, 1944, No. 9959. [Class 5 (i)] A multiple-blade slicer or shredder for pushing and then pulling through vegetables &c. comprises a number of parallel knives 24 anchored in a rectangular frame 20 mounted in a handle 22, the knives being first assembled with their ends in slits in curved separator strips 25. Vertical wires 26 passed through the aligned holes at the end of each knife hold them in position. The strips 25 are then assembled in the rectangular frame 20 and their edges are bent at 27 round the edges of the frame 20 and welded or soldered thereto. The knives which may be double edged are of less width than the frame 20 so that their edges are within the frame and so are protected. The frame 20 is made from a single strip bent to form a shank 21 for. securing to the handle.
