895,182. Straw cutters. MEYER, F. Aug. 3, 1960 [Aug. 4, 1959], No. 26913/60. Class 5(1). A straw cutter comprises a disc 2 to one face of which are attached curved bars 3 formed near their outer ends with slots 4, the edges of which may be sharpened, co-operating with knives 5 secured to a frame 6 the disc and frame being relatively rotatable. The bars and knives are so spaced that cutting can occur at only one place at a time. A guide channel may surround the apparatus if spreading of the cut straw is to take place in defined directions and fan blades or ejectors may be carried by the near face of the disc to facilitate delivery.
