640,877. Sliding seats. MORONEY, L. F. Sept. 23, 1948, No. 24863. [Class 52 (ii)] In sliding seat mechanism of the character described in Specification 629,578 the bearer at each side for engaging and disengaging the rack member is carried by a metal rod 25 the rear end of which is rotatably mounted in a bearing 26 and the front end bent to form a lever arm 27. The lever arms 27 are adjustably connected by a spring link 38, 39 to a bell crank lever 34 an arm 33 of which is connected by a cable or the like 41 to an actuating lever for simultaneous release and locking of the slide mechanism.
