Abstract

635,459. Lay figures. JACOBS, D., WILKS, R. V., and J. W. ARTISTS, Ltd. April 20, 1948, No. 10931. [Class 52 (v)] A lay figure in which the bust member is adjustable forwardly and rearwardly comprises a frame having a U-shaped member 10 and an inverted U-shaped member 11 with shaped shoulders 13 pivotally connected by bolts 18. Nuts 19 lock the frames in any desired angular position. A third U-shaped member 20, having inwardly curved limbs to form the bust, is also pivoted on the bolts 18 and has slots 21 formed in its limbs so it may be moved forwardly or rearwardly with respect to the frame. The U-shaped member 20 has a metal bracket 24 to allow the frame to be mounted on a pillar. In a modification the bust member may be mounted separately on the lower member 10. Sleeves 23 of rubber or velvet prevent slipping of the garment.
