Abstract

640,568. Reciprocating pumps. UNI-GUN LUBRICATING EQUIPMENT, Ltd., and MARTONFALVY, I. C. April 11, 1947. No. 9759 [Class 102(i)] [Also in Group XXVI] In a bucket for a reciprocating pump particularly adaptec for delivering lubricant from a drum, having a ball valve 29 which is located in the oper position over its seat by a cage 30, a number of piston packing rings 25 are gripped between shoulders 13, 24 integral with a pair of tubular parts 12, 14 respectively in threaded engagement with each other and the seat for the ball valve comprises a ring 28 held against an internal shoulder of the tubular part 12 by a threaded hollow plug 27. The cage 30 which constitutes an extension of the tubular portion 12 has a screwed portion 39 engaged by the end of an actuating rod 10. whilst the tubular member 14 has a threaded boss 15 engaging the spindle 16 of a priming piston 17. On the upstroke of the bucket lubricant is forced by the priming piston past a lift valve 21 into the space 23 and is then forced on the next downstroke through parts 41 into the hollow face of the bucket, past the ball valve 29 and out through slots 32 into the delivery space 38.
