[Class 60] [Also in Groups XXII, XXIV and XXXV] A machine employing rotary grinding or cutting tools 147A, Figs. 4, 7 and 9, comprises a work-table 107 adjustable horizontally and pivoted on a bar 105, a bracket arm 141 secured to a turntable 132 which is vertically adjustable so that the tool 147A may be used above or below the work-table 107, and counterbalanced means 142 which carries the tool 147A and is hinged to the bracket 141. The turntable 132 is mounted on a shaft 130 rotatably carried on a bracket 119 which is secured to a guide-bar 118 and adjusted vertically by a screw 119A. A bracket 135 on the opposite end of the shaft 130 carries an electric or oil motor, 140, which rotates the tool 147A through belts 146A, 146, whose tensions are adjustable (see Group XXIV). A weight 142A balances the tool 147A about a shaft 141A which is carried by the brackets 141, 141F. The tool is moved in a vertical plane by an adjustable handle 148 and is limited in movement or locked in position by screws 142D. Two independently-adjustable tables 106, 107 are provided. The Provisional Specification describes a modification in which an arm 41, Fig. 1, carrying the tool-spindle 44, passes through the turntable 32 and is cotmterbalanced by the motor 40. The arm 41 may be locked by a bracket 24 and may be swung through 360 degrees in a horizontal plane. The bracket 18 is supported by a vertically-adjustable member 19.
