[Class 135] A pinch cock comprises a one - piece U - shaped frame 1, a clamping plate 7 slidably mounted on the side members 3 of the frame, a base-plate or cross-bar 5 connected to the outer ends of the side members 3, and a clamping screw 10 swivelly connected to the clamping plate 7 and adjustably mounted in a bridge 2 integral with the side members. The frame 1 is stamped or pressed from a flat metal blank and subsequently bent. The base-plate 5 can pivot about one of the side members 3 in a plane at right angles to that of the frame 1 and engages the other side member 3 by means of a slot 6. In an alternative form, the base-plate 5 is attached to both side members by riveting over their lower ends. A sheath 12 of sheet metal prevents the clamping plate from damaging the flexible tube to which it is applied. The ends of the clamping plate may be forked to engage the side members.
