Abstract
639,469. Aerials. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. June 20, 1947, No. 16310. Convention date, April 19, 1943. [Class 40 (vii)] A rotatable antenna assembly comprises two dipole arms 13, 14 coupled to a coaxial line 18, 19, one arm 14 being attached to the line outer conductor 19 and the other 13 attached to the line inner conductor 18, but co-operates with the outer for the purpose of maintaining the conductors in alignment during rotation of the assembly. A hole is cut in the outer conductor 19 and the arm 13 passes through this to screw on to a stud 30 secured to the inner conductor. Between parts 13, 30 is clamped an insulating member 32 which is secured to the outer conductor by a flanged member 33 threaded on to a washer 32a welded to the outer conductor. A reflector 12 may be provided on an extension of the inner conductor. The assembly forms part of the radar search antenna disclosed in Specification 652,411. Specification 651,846 also is referred to.
