Abstract

637,886. Wall & ceiling linings. BEAN & CO., Ltd., J. H., and KNOTHE, H. Nov. 10, 1947, No. 29923. :[Class 20 (iv)] Cover strips 1, particularly those of channel section, are secured across the adjacent edges of ceiling or wall lining boards 2 by means of clamping members each comprising an open loop of strip metal or other stiff flexible material having a narrow stem s passing between the adjacent .edges of the boards and an enlarged head 4 lying on the upper faces of the boards. In the forms shown in Figs. 1 and 13 the enlarged head is formed by the loop itself ; in Fig. 6 it is formed by bending outwardly the free ends of the stem. In Fig. 13 the clamping member is secured to the cover strip by passing the legs of the loop through an aperture 8 in the base of the strip and bending them outwardly. In Figs. 1 and 6 the screw and nut arrangements 3, 6 provide the means to secure the clamping members to the cover strip and to draw the enlarged head into clamping engagement with the boards the loops in both these forms becoming somewhat deformed in so doing. The cover strips may be suspended from purlins &c. by means of,the ties described in Specification 637,880.
