Class 20(4) In a device for suspending ceilings on the underside of an inner ceiling 7 and comprising a recess formed by a protective cover member 1, preferably rectangular in plan, and a tie-rod 4 passing through the wall of the member and including elements 4a, 4b projecting on opposite sides of the member for anchoring in the ceiling 7, one element 4b is bent backwardly in the plane of the portion of the tie-rod passing through the member for a part of the length thereof to a point above the member, and in an upright position bears against the member; the free end of that element is bent at an angle to the plane of the member. As shown in Fig. 1, the sheet steel cover 1 has a peripheral edge 2 provided with holes 3 for nailing the cover to a mould 8 for casting the concrete ceiling 7. One end 4a of the tie-rod 4 extends obliquely upwards and terminates in a horizontal portion, and the other backwardly-bent end 4b has a part thereof extending upwardly at an angle to the member 1 and terminates in a bent-over portion 4d. In a modification, the tie-rod, Fig. 8, passes through the cover member in a transverse direction.
