Abstract
637,683. Screws. WILLIAMS, H. M. Nov. 4, 1947, No. 29344..[Class 89 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIII] Screws are provided with conical driving sockets 2 to impede unauthorised removal. The socket preferably extends completely through the screw, but where this is objectionable a thin wall of metal is left at the end of the shank. In the case of wood-screws the socket extends as far into the pointed end as strength will permit. The socket is rounded or chamfered at 3.
