Abstract

170,244. Richards, E. April 2, 1921. Drive-screws, screw-nails, and the like.- A screw for securing sheet-iron roofing &c., comprises a large head d provided with an irregular projection d<1>, a slightly conical neck c, a screwed shank b, and a triangular point a. The point a is driven in by a hammer and the screw is then driven home by means of a key adapted to fit over the projection d<1>. A fibre or other washer may be inserted under the head. Annular grooves may be provided under the head, or the underside may be countersunk. The point may be varied in section, and may have longitudinal grooves in its edges.
