Abstract

396,093. Bolts and nuts. GUY, H. L., Thornhill, Hale Road, Hale, Cheshire, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Jan. 27, 1932, No. 2527. [Class 89 (i).] A nut and bolt unit is provided with a member having a screw-threaded engagement with the bolt and bearing on an annular end face thereof. The bolt 1 and nut 2 co-operate with a second nut 7 which screws on to the reduced portion 4 and bears on a shoulder 6 of the bolt 1. The latter has a central hole 8 and annular groove 5. The bolt 1 may be hollow and contain a supplementary bolt 10 which is engaged by the second nut 7. The'additional member may take the form of a screw 18 which screws into a tapped hole 14 in the main bolt and the head 15 of which engages the end surface 13. In the arrangement, Fig. 4, the main nut 2 is continued beyond the bearing face 3, the extension 2a having a conical exterior.
