Abstract
636,068. Screw clamps. HARGREAVES, L. S., and SHARD LOW ELECTRIC WIRES, Ltd. Sept. 30, 1947, No. 26380. [Class 44] A clamp for angularly connecting two tubes or rods, e.g. for connecting a supporting tube to the transverse member of an H-formation television aerial, comprises a channel shaped bracket formed in its base 3 with a trough depression 2 in which is secured one tube 4, the flanges 1 of the bracket being recessed to receive the other tube 7 which is secured by U-bolts 9 fastened to the base 3 by means of lock nuts. The tube 4 may be positively secured in the trough 2 by means of screws screwed into the tube through the outer face of the trough or it may be held in position by the pressure of the tube 7 upon it. The flanges 1 may be inclined with respect to the trough 2 to connect the tubes at an angle other than a right-angle.
