Abstract

1,128,270. Gutter brackets. P. N. EGEMAR. 6 June, 1967 [9 June, 1966], No. 26165/67. Heading A4B. A gutter support comprises a bracket 2 mounted for vertical and angular adjustment on a strip 1, secured to a roof 4, by an L-shaped connector 3 having a horizontal stud portion (7) engaged through a boss 6 on the end of the strip 1 and a vertical, threaded stud portion 10 engaged through a boss 11 on the bracket 2. Vertical adjustment is effected by movement of a nut 12 on the vertical stud 10, the nut 12 engaging the bottom of the bracket boss 11. The horizontal stud (7) has a threaded free end (8) fitted with a clamp nut 9. In one embodiment (Fig. 2), the bore of the boss 6 is conical and the correspondingly shaped stud (7) is drawn into and clamped in the bore by tightening the nut 9 after the connector 3 has been sent in the desired angular position about the axis of the horizontal stud (7). In another embodiment (Fig. 3), the bore of the strip boss (23) has logitudinal serrations (24) which engage the corners of a polygonal section horizontal stud (25). The horizontal stud may be untapered in which case it is provided with a shoulder so that the strip boss may be clamped between the shoulder and the nut.
