Abstract

1478173 Cathode-ray tubes VIDEON SA 16 Sept 1974 [19 Sept 1973] 40205/74 Heading H1D [Also in Division E2] A clamping arrangement for allowing movement of a component 43 which is attached to a line sweep unit on the neck of a television tube, in one direction with referecne to a fixed support C while it is secured against movement at right angles to this, comprises a saddle B having slots 21-24 whereby it can slide on rails 31-34 on the support and also having a cradle at its top surface with converging walls 25 for binding with a cone 14 sliding on rod 41 projecting from the movable component 43 when nut 10 is screwed down. Circlip 15 enables the cone and nut to be secured against axial separation. By this arrangement, the cone may be wedged in the cradle to secure an adjustment along the cradle while adjustment of the saddle along the rails of the support can still be made. Tightening of the nut then secures in both directions. Fig. 3 shows the application to locating a line sweep element (not shown) along and around a cathode ray tube (also not shown) having a fixed member 30. The nut and cone elements may be modified slightly. (For Figures see next column.)
