A clamp to secure a transom unit 20 to a side panel of a Bailey Bridge structure comprising a body 2 including an arm 4 having a hook 6 adapted to pass through an elongated slot (not shown) in a strut 14 of the side panel, a boss 8 located adjacent to but spaced apart from the hook and arranged to engage against the panel strut when the hook is passed through the slot and a screw 10 threadedly engaging in a hole passing through the body and having its axis perpendicular to that of the hooked arm and the strut engaging portion of the boss. In use the screw engages the upper surface 20 of the transom unit which is located on a seat 22 on horizontal members 24 of the side panel and presses the unit on to the seat and the body upwardly in the elongated slot. In a modification the clamp is provided with a second hook and is used with a second clamp which has a boss similar to the boss 8 and a screw similar to the screw 10. The second clamp also has a shoulder and in use this is engaged by the second hook of the first clamp. The first clamp is used as described above and the second clamp is then located over a second transom unit positioned on the other side of the strut 14 and the screw of the second clamp is then tightened onto the upper surface of the upper flange of the second transom unit to hold this unit to its seat and to move the second clamp upwardly until the shoulder is firmly engaged under the second hook.
