Abstract

635,086. Radiators for heating buildings. BERLIN, D. W.; and LANDBERG, S. E. June 11, 1947, No. 15367. [Class 64(ii)] In a low pressure steam or hot water radiator formed by welding together corrugated sheet metal plates 1 at their edges .2 and in the depressions 3 between their edges and by welding or soldering corrugated secondary plate formations 4 to the primary plates 1 to form vertical air passages, the crests of the primary plates are wide enough for each to be welded to two troughs 5 of a secondary plate formation. Apertures 7 are formed in the crests of the secondary plate formations and are elongated vertically, or the secondary plates comprise separate, single trough members (not shown) spaced to form the apertures, two being secured to each primary crest. The secondary plates may be secured to one side of the radiator with the other side covered with polished metal foil to reduce radiation to the adjacent wall of the building.
